Reflecting
the movement of water as it winds down to the sea, a fluid sculpture composed
of an aerial network of white painted branches suspended above the burn
in the snowdrop woods on Cambo Estate. A site-specific installation that
uses branches from a beech tree that came down during the 2012 storms, painted
with white clay to link with this flower, symbolic of rebirth, becoming
visible in the shadows of the valley. The white branches, lit at night during
'snowdrops by starlight', create a floating and ephemeral river amongst
the vertical lines of the trees, that reflects the meandering and horizontal
movement of water below. This installation remains in place until mid April
2014 during the snowdrop festival. http://www.camboestate.com/snowdrops/ |
